Cleaning and Maintenance of the LISTER Star Clipper

This Videos features an instruction how to clean the blade set and the air filter of the LISTER Star horse clipper. It also shows how to tension the blade set and where to locate and use the reset button for the motor.

Air Filter

Many clippers including the Lister Star (shown below) have a vent. This needs to be cleaned regularly to ensure the clipper is able to cool down efficiently. We recommend removing the vent and brushing out the hair - you may find that it needs a wash in warm soapy water (just make sure it's dry before putting it back on your machine). Once cleaned, you should be able to clearly see daylight through it.

Reset Button

All mains clippers have an overload switch which is usually situated towards to back of the machine. If your machine has stopped working, it's always best to check this hasn't popped out first.

If your Lister Star re-set button pops out, please make sure your push it all the way in with the end of the small brush supplied in the box (or something other than your finger) until it gives a little click.  Many people try pushing it in with their finger and then fear that their clipper is broken when it doesn’t re-set!

You will need to ensure that your blades are suitably oiled and tensioned correctly.
