Welsh shearer set to make his mark with British record attempt.

Brecon-based shearer and Lister Ambassador, Lloyd Rees, has his sights on the British Lamb Record.

Brecon-based shearer and Lister Ambassador, Lloyd Rees, has his sights on the British Lamb Record. 

 

The British Record was set in 2021 by Stuart Conner, who sheared 873 lambs in nine hours. Lloyd Rees hopes to beat the current record on the 19th of August.

 

Lloyd started shearing at the age of 16 and has since spent his time shearing in the UK and in New Zealand. In February of this year, Lloyd completed his 10th season over in New Zealand and even supported with the 5 Stand, 9 Hour, Strong Wool Record set by Fagan Shearing.

 

Since returning, Lloyd has split his time between shearing for work and competitively, as well as preparing physically and mentally for the record.

 

As one of Lloyd’s main sponsors, Lister will be proudly providing its equipment and expertise for the event.

The shearing record will take place on Friday, August 19, at Blaenbwch Farm, near Builth between 5am and 5pm.
